Luiri Gold Zambian Tenure Update
TORNTO, CANADA--(Marketwire - July 28, 2010) - Luiri Gold Limited (TSX VENTURE:LGL)(ASX:LGM) has received a letter from the Director of Mines in Zambia which rejects the Company's response to the notice of default previously issued by the Director of Mines concerning mining license LML48 and has informed the Company that LML48 has been cancelled. The Company has lodged an appeal with the Minister of Mines in accordance with the Mines and Minerals Development Act of 2008. The Company's Zambian legal counsel has previously advised the Company that it is in compliance with all provisions of the mining license. The Company will continue to work with the Minister of Mines to try to resolve this issue. However, the provisions of the Mines and Minerals Development Act provide that if the matter is not resolved through the appeal process, then the Company can take the matter to the High Court in Zambia. LML48 contains both the Matala and Dunrobin deposits which have formed the core of the exploration and development work carried out by the Company to date. The Company has therefore halted all fieldwork in Zambia until the tenure situation can be clarified. A review of the other titles held by the Company (LPL 209 and LPL 173) is also being carried out by the Company.
