November 2nd, 2009: Vancouver, British Columbia: Nanika Resources Inc. (TSX-V: NKA and FSE: C7X) ("Nanika or the "Company") is pleased to announce appointment of Rod Kirkham and Alex Walus to the Nanika Advisory Council. The mandate of the Advisory Council is to assist the Nanika Board of Directors and management team in assessing new opportunities and to provide perspective on existing Company projects.
Dr. Kirkham has been an independent geological consultant for ten years. Dr. Kirkham served as a Research Scientist in the Mineral Resources Division of the Geological Survey of Canada from 1986 to 1993. He has a 47 year career in the Canadian mining industry. His career included projects with Newmont Mining Corporation involving mapping and exploration in the Stewart Unuk River area of northwestern British Columbia, and 7 years with the British Columbia Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum. He also has over forty years of extensive experience in the Stewart region. Dr. Kirkham acquired valuable mineral deposits and exploration areas, and has staked over 30,000 hectares in the very active Stewart region of British Columbia. He has been a volunteer of the Geological Survey of Canada, constructing world mineral databases on porphyry, related skarn, bulk-tonnage epithermal deposits, sediment-hosted stratiform copper deposits and selected major world mineral deposits of all types. Dr. Kirkham has been involved with mining in British Columbia for over 45 years and has authored numerous publications. In 1998, he won the Duncan R. Derry Medal, the highest award of the Mineral Deposits Division of the Geological Association of Canada. He has published several scientific papers on mineral deposits and was co-editor of three books. Dr. Kirkham graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in 1960 and a Masters in Science in 1963 and a PhD in Geology from the University of Wisconsin in 1969.
Alex Walus M.Sc., Prof Geo. has over seventeen years of experience prospecting and supervising exploration programs in the Stewart area. He has discovered numerous mineralized zones in the Stewart area, of which twelve have had drill programs, involving more than one hundred drill holes. Alex Walus, P. Geo., a qualified person under National Instrument 43-101 is supervising Nanika's work programs in the Stewart area and graduated with a Masters Degree in Geology and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.
The Advisory Council members are governed by the Terms of Reference established by the Board of Directors of Nanika who have granted incentive stock options to Dr. Rod Kirkham and Alex Walus in the amount of 100,000 options each for a term of two years at $0.10 to vest immediately.
