VANCOUVER, Aug. 5, 2011 /CNW/ - Golden Predator Corp. (News - Market indicators) (the "Company") and the Ross River Dena Council ("RRDC") are pleased to announce that they have signed a Traditional Knowledge Protocol for the Company's Grew Creek Project in Yukon, Canada.
Over one hundred people gathered for a community barbeque and celebrated the signing of the Traditional Knowledge Protocol on the banks of the Pelly River. Ross River Dena Council Chief Jack Caesar together with Golden Predator Chairman & CEO William M. Sheriff signed the Protocol and hosted the community event, highlighted by the Ross River Drummers and an evening of handgames.
Traditional Knowledge Protocol
Within the Protocol, Golden Predator has agreed to incorporate Traditional Knowledge into all phases of its Grew Creek Project, and Traditional Knowledge will be provided by RRDC to support the Yukon Environmental Socio-Economic Assessment Board (YESA) process. The Protocol will help guide the compilation of Traditional Knowledge relevant to the Grew Creek Project and will extend to the Company's other projects within the traditional lands of the Ross River Dena people.

Grew Creek Project
The Grew Creek project is located between Ross River and Faro, Yukon. The property's 72 km2 encompass 363 quartz claims, extending along both sides of the Robert Campbell Highway for approximately 27 km. 2010 drilling results included a discovery at the Carlos Zone, which lies approximately 900 m off of the highway, and power lines traverse the project area. The property lies within the traditional territory of the Ross River Dena Council.
Traditional Knowledge
Traditional Knowledge (also known as Indigenous Knowledge) generally refers to the long-standing traditions and practices on the traditional lands of the Ross River Dena people. Traditional Knowledge also encompasses the wisdom, knowledge, and teachings of the Kaska communities, historically passed orally to present and future generations.
