Nayarit Gold announces appointment of Colin P. Sutherland as President and Chief Executive Officer

Nayarit Gold Inc. (TSXV: NYG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Colin P. Sutherland as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective im mediately.

"Through my consulting mandate, I quickly recognized the tremendous potenti al of the Orion Gold Project and I am excited about the opportunity," state d Mr. Sutherland. "Our short term objective is to finalize the drill contr act next week onsite, and immediately commence a systematic drill program o n the main targets identified. Over the coming months, we will continue to build the Nayarit team with individuals that have experience developing a growth and results oriented Company."

Mr. Sutherland is a Chartered Accountant with extensive management and fina ncial market experience. He recently served as Chief Financial Officer of Gammon Lake Resources Inc. (TSX: "GAM"; AMEX: "GRS"), and Mexgold Resource s Inc. (TSXV: "MGR"). During his three years at Gammon Lake Resources Inc. , Mr. Sutherland was an instrumental part of the management team which plac ed the Ocampo Mine (gold and silver - Chihuahua State, M�xico) into produ ction, and completed the successful merger with Mexgold Resources Inc. Dur ing his tenure there, Gammon Lake's market capitalization grew from $300 mi llion to over $2 billion.
Nayarit is also pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Colin P. Sutherl and and Mr. R. Glen MacMullin to the Board of Directors. Mr. MacMullin is currently a Managing Director with Xavier Sussex, LLC, a private investment firm he co-founded in 2004. Prior to 2004, he was Director and Chief Oper ating Officer with DB Advisors, LLC, a $6 billion hedge fund group based in New York and wholly owned by Deutsche Bank AG. He previously served in va rious positions with Deutsche Bank Offshore in the Cayman Islands including Head of Investment Funds. Mr. MacMullin began his career in public accoun ting with Coopers & Lybrand in Ottawa, Canada and KPMG in the Cayman Island s. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Saint Franci s Xavier University and is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Mr. Shahe Sabag resigned from the Board of Directors effective immediately. The Board would like to thank him for his services.

Nayarit's board of directors granted a total of 50,000 stock options to dir ectors and consultants of Nayarit at an exercise price of $0.90 per share e xpiring on June 6, 2012.
