NIOGOLD APPOINTS NEW VP, GRANTS STOCK OPTIONS

Val-d�Or, Quebec, July 3, 2009: NioGold Mining Corporation (TSX-V:NOX) (Frankfurt:NG1) (�NioGold� or the "Company") announces that Mr. Dale Paruk has joined NioGold effective July 1, 2009 as VP of Corporate Development. Dale has 30 years experience in financial markets as a broker, an investor, a funder and as president of an investor relations firm. Dale has extensive contacts in the financial world including institutional investors, analysts, brokers, newsletter writers and investors. Dale will be the Company�s direct contact with the investment community and contribute to the Company�s marketing investor awareness programs.

The Company also announces that it has granted to certain officers an aggregate of 150,000 incentive stock options exercisable for a period of five years at a price of $0.20.  The options are subject to the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange.
