Correction: Assay Results From Marifil'S Amarillo Norte Gold Property - Not Avestruces

Spokane, WA -- April 17, 2007: MARIFIL MINES LTD. (MFM: TSX-V) ("Marifil" or "the Company") notes that in its press release of April 11, 2007, the Company inadvertently reported assay results as coming from the newly acquired Avestruces property. While the results were accurate, they were, in fact, from the Amarillo Norte property (See Marifil News Release of January 31, 2007.)

The 3,000 hectare Amarillo Norte property in San Juan Province, Argentina, lies within the prolific El Indio-Veladero Gold Belt about six kilometers north of Marifil's Amarillo property, which is the subject of a joint-venture agreement with ATW Venture Corp. (see Marifil & ATW news release of December 12, 2006).

Amarillo Norte Results: Strongly anomalous amounts of gold up to 1.5 g/t are present in Bulk Leach Extractable Gold (BLEG) samples. BLEG sampling is used as an important screening tool to identify broad target areas and the Company is highly encouraged by these strongly anomalous gold samples."

Based upon these findings, Marifil is arranging with a geologic consulting group to make a comprehensive new mapping and sampling program for Amarillo Norte.

Avestruces Property: On April 11, 2007, the Company announced that it had signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100% of this property in San Juan Province, Argentina from a private Argentinean claim owner. Avestruces is Marifil's third gold property within the world famous El Indio-Veladero gold belt, host of Barrick Gold's vast Pascua-Lama and Veladero deposits. Avestruces comprises about 7,485 hectares, lies at an elevation of 3,000 meters MSL, and is located about 135 kilometers northwest of San Juan City.

As noted in the Company's prior news release, the Avestruces property is marked by 10 square kilometers of hydrothermally altered rock including steam heated alteration marked by vuggy silica, native sulfur, and alunite; a massive silica area with pervasive replacement of wallrocks by silica; and a large argillic halo.

Avestruces is located about 75 kilometers south of Marifil's Amarillo gold property where ATW (ATW: TSX-V) is engaged in a diamond core drilling program under terms of a joint venture agreement with Marifil (See Marifil News Release of December 12, 2006).

The Company is planning to carry out a detailed mapping and sampling program this year.
