Athabasca Basin Update

Vancouver, BC - Triex Minerals Corporation (TXM-TSX.V) ("Triex" or the
"Company") is pleased to provide an update on the recent exploration
activities on it's Pasfield Lake and Mann Lake properties located in
the Athabasca Basin in northern Saskatchewan. For property location

Drilling continues on the Company's core properties in the center of
the eastern corridor of the Athabasca Basin, the world's premier
district for high-grade uranium deposits.

A fence of four holes was designed to test the regional shear zone that
bounds the western margin of the basement uplift block which underlies
northern Pasfield Lake. Three of the four holes were completed for a
total of 995 metres during the six week drill program. Reinforcing the
mineral potential of the property, the Athabasca Group sandstone,
commonly bleached and highly altered, is pervasively fractured and
completely broken from the top to bottom in all three holes, indicative
of intense faulting. Prospective geology at Pasfield Lake is associated
with ground conditions that make for very difficult drilling and the
fourth hole was not attempted due to scheduling difficulties. The
Company is currently assessing alternative drilling techniques and/or
equipment in order to more effectively explore the uplift block when
drilling resumes in January.

Upon the completion of the Pasfield Lake program, the drill was moved
to the Company's Mann Lake property located 25 kilometres southwest of
McArthur River. Drilling is currently underway on the first of four
holes planned for a total of 3,200 metres. Two of the holes are located
near hole MN06-002 (completed in September 2006) which intersected 90
metres of intensely fractured, strongly bleached, and locally
pervasively illite-altered sandstone at the base of the Athabasca Group
(see photos at www.triexminerals.com). The remaining two holes will
test a second target area on the property. The Mann Lake area continues
to be active where Cameco Corporation carried out extensive drilling
this past summer to follow up basement-hosted mineralization discovered
in 2006 near the eastern border of Triex's Mann Lake property.

Dr. Alan Armitage, Ph.D., P.Geo., Vice President of Exploration at
Triex, is a Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101
and is responsible for program design and quality control of
exploration undertaken by the Company in the Athabasca Basin. This
release has been reviewed by Dr. Michael Gunning, Ph.D., P.Geo.,
President of Triex and a Qualified Person as defined by National
Instrument 43-101.

Triex is a Canadian junior mineral exploration company focused on
