Brett's Drilling Expands and Verifies Resource Model

Brett Resources Inc. (TSX Venture Exchange -- BBR) is pleased to report drill results from eight holes drilled on the Hammond Reef Property, located 23 kilometres northeast of Atikokan, Ontario. Results reported below are from mineralized zones adjacent to Mitta Lake.

Highlights from these holes include hole BR-113 with 154 metres of 1.21 g/t Au. See drill plan map for locations of the holes reported herein.

Reported intervals are calculated using a 0.3 g/t Au cut-off over a minimum 6 metre drilled length. Intervals represent down hole lengths, which are roughly perpendicular to mineralization as interpreted on cross section.

Drill holes BR-111 through BR-114 are infill drill holes drilled West of Mitta Lake and have confirmed the continuity of the mineralized lenses. In fact, BR-113 intersected much stronger than expected gold mineralization from 195.0 to 228.0 metres.

Holes BR-115 to BR-117 are step-out holes, drilled on the south-east shore of Mitta Lake. BR-116 intersected slightly lower grade gold mineralization than anticipated by the resource interpretation, but it did core a deeper interval of gold mineralization, 19.5 metres of 0.79 g/t Au from 319.5 to 339.0 metres. Earlier drill holes in this area have not been drilled deep enough to test for this mineralization. This intersection requires up dip drill testing.

BR-115 and BR-117, intersected well developed gold mineralization in areas that were not included in the resource estimate and will add to the gold inventory in future resource estimates. These two holes also confirm continuity in the deep gold mineralization cored in BR-116.

Updated cross sections are expected to be posted to the Company's website early in the new year.

Brett's President and CEO Patrick Soares comments, "Brett continues to build on its drilling success at Hammond Reef. Step-out drilling south-east of Mitta Lake verifies the resource block model which predicts that thick mineralized gold lenses plunge gently to the north-east. Southwest of Mitta Lake, drilling verifies the presence of thick gold mineralized lenses that start near surface and reach a depth of approximately 300 metres below surface. These results are also consistent with the resource model that indicated that 97 percent of the 4.8 million ounce resource, (see news release dated October 15, 2008, on the Company website) lies within 300 metres of surface.

The Company would also like to announce that it has SEDAR filed its "Technical Report on Hammond Reef Gold Project, Ontario Canada", a 43-101 report authored by Scott Wilson Roscoe Postle Associates Inc. A copy of this report can be found on the Company website at www.brettresources.com or on SEDAR, www.sedar.com, along with the Companies other public filings.

The Company utilizes standard industry practices in quality control and quality assurance with insertion of blind standards, blanks, and duplicates, in addition to the quality assurance and quality control practiced by the assay laboratory. Sample preparation and analysis are conducted by ALS Chemex Laboratories with sample preparation in Thunder Bay, Ont. and analyses of pulps in North Vancouver, BC ISO/IEC guideline 17025 accredited facilities. The Project Manager and Qualified Person under the terms of National Instrument 43-101 responsible for the verification of work and data acquisition at Hammond Reef is John Zbeetnoff, P.Geo.
