Encouraging Results From First Exploration Program On The Lemieux Dome Property

Val-d'Or, Quebec March 29, 2007 - Threegold Resources Inc. (THG:TSX Venture Exchange) are pleased to announce the results of its 2006 exploration program carried out on the Lemieux Dome Project in the Gaspe region of Quebec. The results will assists in the preparation of an expansive exploration program consisting of trenching, airborne geophysics, geochemistry and digital data modeling leading to a first diamond drilling program is planned for the summer and fall of 2007. 

New mineralized occurrences were discovered, sampled and described by Robert J. Tremblay, P. Geo., an independent consultant to Threegold. The new occurrences are copper-bearing massive sulphides in shear zones ranging from one (1) metre to tens of metres in width and copper-bearing hematized breccias measuring up to ten (10) metres in outcrop width.

The zones and mineralized occurrences were systematically sampled and a total of 133 grab samples were assayed for Au, Ag, Cu, Zn and other major metals and elements.  The newly discovered zones returned anomalous copper values reaching up to 11% Cu and up to 7.58% Zn. The majority of samples also returned anomalous gold and silver values ranging up to 388ppb and 23.2g/t respectively.

In one new zone, trench number 6, located in the west central sector, a folded silicified sulphide-enriched shear zone returned average copper values of 3.06% copper for the representative grab samples taken over a 27 metre interval. Individual samples contained up to 23% Cu.  The same occurrence returned average silver values of 5.17 g/t with individual assays reaching up to 51.3 g/t Ag in addition to anomalous gold, zinc and lead values.  Apart from the shear zones, three hematized breccias located in the southwestern portion of the property assayed 8.5% , 3.9% and 2.2% Cu respectively.

Historical zinc occurrences where sporadic production was carried out in the past were revisited and re-sampled.  Samples in which zinc minerals were observed assayed from 0.2 to 13% Zn with associated silver ranging from 2.5 to 15.8g/t.  Further assessment of their potential will be conducted during 2007.

The Lemieux Dome Project comprises 248 claims covering an area in excess of 100 km2 in the Gasp� Peninsula of Quebec. The project is centered on a circular geological structure favorable to host large epithermal copper-gold zones as well as zinc-lead-silver veins. The 2006 exploration program was aimed primarily at exposing known mineralized structures to assess their potential and to characterize the observed mineralization.  The program also served to re-establish access to lesser explored areas through old forestry roads. Several new mineralized zones were exposed on steep hillsides while clearing old roads and these will be further investigated in 2007.

The field program and sampling was performed by Robert J. Tremblay, an independent consultant. The samples were assayed at the Laboratoire Expert in Rouyn-Noranda, Qu�bec using routine ICP for metals and elements. Copper, zinc and lead samples reaching the upper detection limits (10 000, 10 000 and 5 000 ppm respectively) were re-assayed using Atomic Absorption (AA) finish. Gold was assayed through fire assay on a 30g split portion with AA finish. Routine quality control analyses, check analyses are performed by the laboratory for internal QA/QC procedures.

The company is very pleased with the results that confirm the quality of our exploration project in Gasp�sie with the discovery of new mineralized zones.  The mineralization types discovered and described by Mr. Tremblay will also assist in targeting new, under-explored areas of the property.  With the recent property acquisition/option with Appalache s Resources Inc. (press release January 17 2007), Threegold now has access to the entire geological structure known as the Lemieux Dome.

An expansive exploration program, consisting of trenching, airborne geophysics, geochemistry and digital data modeling leading to a first diamond drilling program is planned for the summer and fall of 2007.
