VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Dec. 19, 2011) - China Gold International Resources Corp. Ltd. (News - Market indicators) (HKSE:2099) (the "Company") is pleased to announce an update on its exploration progress for 2011 at its CSH gold mine in Inner Mongolia, China. The planned 108 hole - 59,135.40 meter drill campaign was completed in early November 2011 on schedule, which is aimed to define more resource down depth below the current open pit. All of the assay results were received in late November 2011.

Highlights of the 2011 drill program from the recently received assay results include intercepts of 340.36 meters (true width 248.09 meters) grading 0.78 grams per tonne (g/t) gold in hole DDH9900-2 and 221.88 meters (true width 190.99 meters) grading 0.92 grams per tonne (g/t) gold in hole DDH9800-3.

The results indicate that the gold mineralization is continuous and the gold grade has improved to depth beneath the current open pit operation and provides confidence that the resource at CSH will have a significant increase. The following is a brief summary on the 2011 drilling results:

1. All grades reported are sample length weighted averages (LWA), where the individual samples range from 0.5 to 2 meters lengths with most in 2 meter lengths.
2. The intervals listed above include both drill intercept widths and calculated true widths based on actual down hole surveys.

Quality Control and Quality Assurance:

Due to the large amount of samples to be assayed, two internationally recognized well known labs were chosen to perform the assays. One is the SGS Tianjin Lab and the other ALS Chemex Guangzhou lab, both in China. At the SGS Tianjin Lab China and ALS Chemex Guangzhou Lab, the samples were dried, pulverized to approximately 95%-pass 200 mesh (75um). The gold content was determined using the standard 30-gram fire assay followed by Atomic Absorption techniques. About 10% of the samples that were assayed above 0.2 ppm Au were checked by a third lab, the ITS Shanghai Lab, which is also an internationally well recognized lab. China Gold, SGS and ALS all maintain comprehensive and independent Quality Control/Quality Assurance programs.

About CSH Mine

The CSH gold mine is an open pit, heap leach gold mine located in Inner Mongolia, China, approximately 210 kilometers northwest of the city of Baotou. Production has increased each year since commercial production was reached in 2008. The annual commercial gold production was 33,671 ounces in 2008, 83,570 ounces in 2009 and 111,000 ounces in 2010. Production for 2011 is estimated to reach 120,000 to 125,000 ounces.
