Shares of Gilead Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: GILD) were up 0.42 percent in after-hours Monday on relatively high volume, after gaining 0.54 percent over the trading session. The rise was driven by the approval of its hepatitis C virus (HCV) drug Harvoni in Japan.
Among the biggest gainers after the bell was TerraForm Power Inc (NASDAQ: TERP), which was up 3.54 percent to $38.86 per share. TerraForm, a unit of Sunedison Inc (NYSE: SUNE), announced after the market closed that it would acquire 930 megawatt of wind power plants from Invenergy Wind LLC, in a transaction that will total $2 billion.
Energy XXI Ltd (NASDAQ: EXXI), which tumbled 3.46 percent on the day, fell an extra 1.35 percent after hours to $2.20. The decline was triggered by the falling prices of WTI and Brent crude futures, amid a strong U.S. dollar environment.
Wynn Resorts, Limited (NASDAQ: WYNN)rose 0.33 during Monday trading, and an extra 1.56 percent after the bell rang.
Liberty Global PLC LiLAC Class A (NASDAQ: LILA) fell 3.19 percent after hours, after climbing 0.79 percent during the day.
Accuride Corporation (NYSE: ACW) seemed to be recuperating from the 2.58 percent decline it experienced on Monday, as it was up 0.8 percent in late trading.
SouFun Holdings Ltd (NYSE: SFUN) plummeted 14.3 percent on Monday to $7.13, after the company announced the results of its 2015 annual general meeting of shareholders, held last Friday. The stock was recuperating after hours (up 3.26 percent) on moderate volume.
Rising gold prices sent Barrick Gold Corporation (USA) (NYSE: ABX) up 2.65 percent on Monday. However, the stock lost most of the gained ground after hours, as it was down almost 2 percent.
