Manson Creek Intersects 5.75 g/t Gold Over 1.0 Meter at Virgin Arm Gold Project

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Sept. 7, 2011) - Manson Creek Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:MCK) ('Manson Creek') is pleased to announce that it has drilled numerous multi-gram gold intervals at its Virgin Arm gold project, located in Newfoundland. The 1,085 meter NQ sized diamond drill program targeted gold mineralization in and around the Hank and Homer Zones.

Noteworthy gold values were returned on drill holes 03, 04, 05 and 06 (Table 1). Drill hole 2011-Ha 06, targeting a southern extension of the Hank Zone, intersected 1.51 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 3.5 meters (m) including 3.82 g/t gold over 1.1 m. Drill hole 2011-Ho-05, targeting the western extension of the Homer Zone, returned assays of 5.75 g/t gold and 3.39 g/t gold over 1.0 m and 1.2 m respectively.

Significant gold values are hosted within felsic intrusive units that have strong to pervasive quartz flooding/silicification and associated strong sericite alteration. It is noted that the gold mineralization over meter intervals through the mineralized zones shows strong variability. Additionally, analysis of the assay data has shown localized discrepancies between surface values in some of the trenches and the drill holes that cut the same gold mineralized zone at depth. It is believed that this is due in part to the "nugget effect" relating to the distribution and relatively coarse nature of the gold mineralization present at Virgin Arm. A large selection of samples will be selected from these areas for metallic screen analysis that will provide better understanding of the nature of the gold mineralization. The Company is pleased with the progression of the Virgin Arm project to date, from initial mineralized gold outcrop to identification of a large gold mineralized system.

In addition to the higher grade gold values outlined in Table 1, broad low grade zones of 0.10 g/t gold to 0.50 g/t gold were seen in all of the seven drill holes. Drill hole 2011-Ha-07 assayed 0.24 g/t gold over an interval of 7.0 m. This continues to support the exploration model of higher grade gold zones hosted within zones of lower grade mineralization.

Drill core samples were delivered to Eastern Analytical Ltd. in Springdale, Newfoundland for analysis. Gold was assayed by standard fire assay methods with 30 additional elements analyzed by Induced Coupled Plasma (ICP). Duplicates and blanks were inserted in the sample order to ensure optimum precision and accuracy.

Background

Gold has been identified in a mineralized corridor of 4.2 kilometers by up to 800 meters on the Virgin Arm property defined by trenching and now diamond drilling. The Virgin Arm gold property is an excellent target for significant new gold resources with high grade gold values to 10.07 g/t found within zones of lower grade gold mineralization. The Company has demonstrated that a widespread, previously unrecognized, gold system is present at the Virgin Arm property and that there is potential for the discovery of a large, bulk tonnage style gold mineralized system.

Tell Project, Yukon

With the successful completion of the 2011 drill campaign in Newfoundland, the Company will focus resources on advancing the Tell Project in the Yukon. This includes interpretation and analysis of the substantial Tell geochemical database to direct the planned comprehensive geophysical and diamond drill program on the 7 Tell gossans early in the 2012 exploration season.
