He's the Australian-born basketballer, currently killing it in the NBA with the Philadelphia 76ers.

And after recent speculation that he was dating US singer Tinashe, Ben Simmons has finally confirmed that the pair are dating.

The 21-year-old took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a loved-up snap of the smitten duo.

The photo showed Tinashe, 25, wearing a fetching white faux fur coat with her arms wrapped tightly around her new beau.

Meanwhile Ben, who was clad in a 76ers hat, placed his arm lovingly around Tinashe's waist.

'This is a dime I cant pass up,' 'he wrote in the caption, with 'dime' being a reference to an assisted pass in basketball.

Ben's legion of fans were quick to offer hearty congratulations on the post with the likes of: ' You better treat her right or it's a flagrant foul of this end. All elbow!'

Tinashe also took to her account to share an image from the same 'shoot' that showed the pair smiling broadly as the cuddled.

Captioning that image with a love heart and a lock emoji, Tina's fans gushed over the announcement.

'Such a cute couple,' came one reply while another offered a simple: 'Finally!

Taking to the social media platform in early March, Tinashe shared an image that showed her clad in lingerie and kneeling on a bed.

Throwing fuel on the relationship rumour fire, Ben commented on the image with a simple: 'Charlotte,' to which Tinashe responded by sending a smiling face emoji with heart-shaped eyes.

Daily Mail Australia has reached out to the pair for comment. 

The comment caused a flurry of activity with fans of the singer gushing over the potential pairing.

The image, shared by user @animowlozol showed the 'couple' decorating sneakers while Ben had his arm firmly wrapped around Tinashe's shoulders.

Ben also hinted that he had gotten to know the singer and her eating habits quite well in February this year when he tweeted a poll debating if spaghetti was better than chocolate.

'What's better?' Ben wrote. '@Tinashe strongly believes one is clearly better and she is clearly wrong.'

Ben has certainly been making his mark on the NBA since being drafted by the 76ers. 

The Melbourne-born star was named as Eastern Conference  rookie of the month in February alongside Utah Jazz player Donovan Mitchell.

NBA.com reported that Ben  leads all rookies in rebounds, assists, steals and minutes per game.

Ben also earned the honour in November and January making him the third Philadelphia player in history to so.
