Attendees top 27,700 plus for the World's Mining Industry!

I have been back in the office for a couple of weeks now from the PDAC - (Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada) Conference that took place in Toronto, Canada. The convention was met with high energy throughout the centre as the mining industry along with the investment community arrived from all over the world to congregate at the world's largest mining and exploration trade show.

Batero Gold Corp. had a booth at the show where we were able to meet with our shareholders, prospective investors, and financial representatives. This gave us an opportunity to discuss our project in Colombia and provide updates on the company's exciting new developments, the current work program as well as strategic milestones set out by the company.

While at the show Batero Gold Corp released additional drill results: "March 07, 2011 Batero Gold Intersects 460.00 Metres Grading 0.70 g/t Gold And 0.12% Copper Including 261.00 Metres of 1.00 g/t Gold and 0.16% Copper Starting From 10 Metres Below Surface" - see News section of website at www.baterogold.com. The recent drill holes are reflecting the potential of a higher grade zone at surface which potentially can be beneficial for a future feasibility study. Currently, at La Cumbre the company is using one drill to continue delineating the porphyry body's extent - it is still open to the NNW and SSE and at depth. A second drill at La Cumbre is being used to in-fill drill the porphyry in preparation for publishing a compliant NI-43-101 resource estimate that is anticipated to be out later this year.

At the PDAC we were pleased to discuss that our drill program has expanded with three more drills turning on three new high priority exploration targets: La Lenguita, Matecana and Manzanillo. Since the PDAC the company has continued its aggressive drill campaign with the addition of two more drills to the project. These drills are targeting an area south of the Dos Quebradas porphyry (as previously identified in 2006-07). This is considered a high priority target and the company will systematically drill towards the Dos Quebradas porphyry over the coming months. To date the company has seven drills turning with the eighth drill anticipated to arrive in the coming months.

A very important factor that we also discussed at PDAC was the impact of our Social and Environmental Committee in the local and surrounding area. This committee diligently works daily on communicating at the local level, with active involvement of the community in our day to day activities. Additionally, the company is building strong relationships and cooperation with local and government officials. Batero has inherited its social and community development personnel whom have been active in the community in this role and capacity over the past decade which has been fortuitous and positive for Batero and the project in building a positive and socially stable environment within and around the project area. With that said Batero is building a comparative advantage versus its peers from a social, environmental, and asset development basis by all co-existing with strong positive results taking place on a daily basis. Batero continues to strive daily to achieve a financially viable and environmentally sustainable mining operation socially benefitting the region and Colombia as a whole.

With multiple high priority targets, a well funded, aggressive drill campaign and the leadership to prove it, Batero Gold is looking forward to a very productive year and I look forward to reporting this to you.
