      Fortuna Provides Corporate Update

June 25, 2008: Fortuna Silver Mines Inc. (FVI: TSX-V) announces that it
proposes to amend its private placement warrants previously issued on
January 11, 2007 to extend the expiry date by one year to July 11,
2009.  The amendment is subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval.

In addition, the Company is pleased to announce that its shares will be
listed and trading on the Lima Stock Exchange at the market opening on
Thursday, June 26, 2008 under the symbol "FVI".
