Alamos Provides Exploration Update and Announces Results of Annual General Meeting

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 4, 2010) - Alamos Gold Inc. (TSX:AGI) ("Alamos" or the "Company") announces exploration results from ongoing drilling programs at its Mexican and Turkish properties. The Company also announces the voting results of its Annual General Meeting of Shareholders that was held on June 2, 2010.

Mulatos Exploration Update

At the Mulatos Project in Mexico, three reverse-circulation ("RC") and one core drill rig have drilled over 26,500 metres ("m") in 138 holes since the beginning of the year with a focus on San Carlos, the Puerto del Aire ("PdA") Extension, and the Mulatos Pit. Figure 1 at the end of this press release identifies the location of these projects.

San Carlos

A total of 9,920 m of drilling in 48 holes has been completed at San Carlos in 2010. Drilling continues to focus on upgrading established inferred mineral resources to the measured and indicated categories, expanding the known limits of the mineralized system, and further defining the zones of high-grade gold mineralization.

Notable new assay results include:

- 10SC072 9.90 m grading 14.71 grams of gold per tonne ("g/t Au")
- 10SC080 21.34 m grading 1.27 g/t Au
- 10SC081 16.75 m grading 6.41 g/t Au
- 10SC086 13.72 m grading 3.06 g/t Au
- 10SC088 19.82 m grading 2.11 g/t Au
- 10SC091 22.86 m grading 1.18 g/t Au

Holes 10SC072, 10SC081 and 10SC086 were targeting lateral extensions of the San Carlos high-grade gold zone and these drill results demonstrate both the continuity and robustness of the zone. The other drill intercepts outlined above are representative of the lower-grade main zone that envelopes the high-grade zone.

The San Carlos mineralized zone, as defined by the distribution of silica alteration, is both stratabound and structurally controlled, extends for at least 400 m along strike from the Mulatos River, is up to 300 m wide, and up to 100 m thick.

The high-grade mineralization, which is also both structurally- and stratigraphically-controlled, is at least 270 m long. The western portion of this high grade zone is primarily structurally controlled and forms a zone up to 45 m wide and 75 m thick. The eastern portion of this zone, which is principally stratabound, is up to 90 m wide and 20 m thick.

Additional assay results and drill hole collar data are presented in tables 1 and 2, respectively. Drill hole locations for the San Carlos program are presented in Figure 2.

Puerto del Aire Extension

At the PdA Extension, the drill program continues to focus on expanding the mineralized zone to the northeast and infill drilling a recently discovered high-grade zone. A total of 10,425 m in 32 holes has been completed at the PdA Extension this year.

Notable new assay results include:

- 10PA204 13.3 m grading 4.08 g/t Au
- 10PA213 10.7 m grading 4.69 g/t Au

Drill hole 10PA204 is a follow-up drill hole located 100 m east of drill hole 10PA192 (18.3 m grading 2.70 g/t Au) and it is interpreted to represent a lateral extension of the high-grade zone intercepted in 10PA192. Also of notable interest is the identification of additional barren mafic dykes in the area, which are interpreted to be spatially related to high-grade mineralization at San Carlos.

Drill hole 10PA213 is noteworthy as it is believed be a 100 m southern extension of the high-grade zone initially encountered in drill hole 09PA144 (50.3 m grading 10.06 g/t Au).

Relevant assay results and drill hole collar data received during the quarter are presented in tables 3 and 4, respectively. Drill hole locations for the PdA Extension program are presented in Figure 3 at the end of this release.

Agi Dagi and Kirazli Exploration and Development Update

Drilling at the Company's Agi Dagi and Kirazli projects on the Biga Peninsula of northwestern Turkey started on March 20, 2010 and is progressing well. A total of 4,500 m in 27 drill holes have been completed using four core rigs. Drilling has primarily focused on collecting representative samples for metallurgical and geotechnical testing purposes from the Agi Dagi property.

Notable recent assay results include:

- 10AD354 19.0 m grading 1.06 g/t Au
- 10AD355 72.5 m grading 0.87 g/t Au
- 10AD359 28.0 m grading 1.93 g/t Au
- 10AD361 48.8 m grading 2.89 g/t Au
- 10AD364 50.2 m grading 4.20 g/t Au
- 10AD366 14.8 m grading 5.02 g/t Au

Metallurgical, geotechnical, and infill drill holes are generally confirming expected grades and thicknesses, while some infill holes, such as 10AD359 and 10AD364, are significantly exceeding expectations in terms of gold grade. Drilling results are also demonstrating the continuity of the mineralized zones within the established mineral resources. The metallurgical, geotechnical, and geological data collected from the 2010 drill program will be incorporated into the combined pre-feasibility study for the Agi Dagi and Kirazli properties, which is expected to be completed during the first half of 2011.

Relevant assay results and drill hole collar data received during the quarter are presented in tables 5 and 6, respectively. Drill hole locations from the Agi Dagi program are presented in figures 4 and 5 at the end of this press release.
