CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - April 14, 2011) - Crown Point Ventures Ltd. ("Crown Point" or "the Company") (News - Market indicators) advises that it has drilled the first well of a five well development drilling program at El Valle Field in the Golfo San Jorge Basin to total depth. The well is waiting to be logged, however it is expected that it will be cased as a potential oil well.

Crown Point's drilling and production operations have been shut down since April 1, 2011 due to a strike by the Petroleum workers in the Province of Santa Cruz. This strike is wide spread and has shut down production and drilling operations on the south side of the San Jorge Basin. The Government and the Unions are currently meeting to resolve the issues on an expedited basis.

The strike has forced Crown Point to shut in all of its production until normal producing and petroleum transportation operations are resumed. The cost of the drilling program will be higher than initially budgeted; assuming that the strike is settled in the near term we expect that the increased costs of the drilling will be within the planned contingency for the program.
