MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Jan. 31, 2008) - Yorbeau Resources Inc. (TSX:YRB.A) summarized its 2007 exploration activities and is pleased to provide investors with an overview of the Company's 2008 exploration and testing program. Yorbeau President and CEO Dr. Thomas L. Robyn stated "We believe we have an exceptional land package, straddling one of the most prolific gold producing structures in the world, less than 10% of which has been tested. We have a focused exploration and testing program planned for 2008. I anticipate some exciting results during this year." 2007 Activities Work during 2007 focused on the Augmitto and Cinderella blocks of the Company's 12-km long property straddling the Cadillac-Larder Lake Break (CLLB). A major effort went towards organizing a computerized database. This required entering: 1) Augmitto historical data from over 1000 surface and underground drill holes plus 5,841 underground samples and survey results, 2) Astoria historical data from over 1000 surface and underground drill holes and 3) regional historical data from 320 surface drill holes. As well, the results from the Company's drilling at Augmitto, including 3,960 m of NQ diamond drilling in 31 holes plus another 1,779 m in seven holes on the Cinderella block, were incorporated. Drilling on the Augmitto block was designed to corroborate the historical data and allow the A.C.A. Howe reserve calculation of 1989 to be updated to NI 43-101 standard. Drilling on the Cinderella block was strictly explorative. Holes on both properties returned high grades of gold, often with visible gold observed in core, the results of which have been reported in a series of press releases during 2007. These results have been instrumental in the design of the 2008 program. Highlights - The Augmitto ramp was partially dewatered to Level 2, where the water level is being maintained. - The exposed ramp was rehabilitated in preparation for further underground work. - Dewatering required construction of a water treatment plant and settling ponds. The start-up and initial operation of the treatment system was a success, resulting in a final effluent discharged to the environment that meets all requirements of regulatory agencies, including toxicity. - We upgraded core logging facilities - New office space was created in the large service building that was on site when the property was acquired. - Buildings facilities were upgraded to readily accommodate miners (dry room, locker room, shower room, etc.) 2008 Activities The objectives during 2008 will be threefold: - To understand details of the CLLB structure along its entire 12-km length on our property, - To expand the gold resources on the Rouyn property, and - To make a major gold discovery. The exploration program will start in February when line cutting begins in preparation for the induced polarization (IP)-resistivity survey that will extend along the entire length of the CLLB. Drilling during 2007 demonstrated that gold mineralization at Augmitto occurs in both carbonate ore zones and silicified sulphide-bearing metasediments ("flow" zone), and these zones also occur in the Astoria deposit located five km east of Augmitto. The IP data will detect the sulphide-bearing rocks and the resistivity data will detect areas of high resistivity, which in this environment will be caused by high silicification and quartz veining. Yorbeau will begin detailed structural mapping when snow conditions permit, focusing on understanding the flexures, twists and deformation patterns in the CLLB. Lithogeochemical studies will continue in order to define the alteration zonation related to gold mineralization. Drilling is scheduled to start in late April or early May, depending on progress with the IP-resistivity survey, and will have two objectives: 1. Defining a high grade shoot at Augmitto in order to understand its orientation and structural pattern relative to the overall CLLB trend, and 2. Testing targets defined by compilation and interpretation of the combined magnetic and IP-resistivity surveys. Zones of high chargeability (sulphide content), high resistivity (silicification and quartz veining), and low magnetic response (magnetite destruction due to alteration and gold mineralization) will be high priority drill targets. Data entry and compilation of the computerized database will continue throughout the year. Data from the entire property will be entered, including from the Astoria deposit. Modeling of the data in 3-D will be a significant aspect of the data evaluation.
