STRATAGOLD DISCOVERS NEW GOLD ZONE AT DUBLIN GULCH, YUKON
Vancouver, October 10, 2006-StrataGold Corporation (SGV: TSX) is pleased to announce the discovery of a new gold zone, called the Shamrock Zone, at its 100% owned Dublin Gulch property, Yukon. The Shamrock Zone is located three kilometers north-northeast of the Eagle Zone gold deposit.
The 868 metre (m) 2007 diamond drill hole (DDH) program at the Shamrock Zone was designed to follow up highly anomalous gold in soils and trenching results from the 2006 exploration program. All five of the DDH's collared in and ended in the Dublin Gulch granodiorite stock, which hosts the Eagle Zone. Assay results, including 15.24 m averaging 1.12 g/t gold and 16.76 m averaging 1.42 g/t gold, are encouraging. At this time the Shamrock Zone has been defined over a strike length of 325 m with four holes and remains open in both directions along strike and down-dip. DDH 329 intersected 14.6 m averaging 1.16 g/t gold and appears to have intersected a separate, parallel zone immediately north of the Shamrock Zone that is part of the same gold system. Results from the 2007 DDH exploration program confirm excellent potential to add additional gold resources to the Dublin Gulch property outside of the Eagle Zone.

Soil sampling was also completed on the Shamrock Zone in 2007, tripling the size of the grid completed in 2006. Results from the 2006 soil sampling and trenching program at the Shamrock Zone are available on the Dublin Gulch property page at www.stratagold.com. The results of the 2007 soil sampling program will be made available when received.
About Dublin Gulch
Dublin Gulch is located in the north central portion of the Tintina Gold Belt and is being explored by various exploration companies for low-grade bulk tonnage, intrusive-hosted gold deposits similar to the Fort Knox Gold Mine operated by Kinross Gold Corporation in Alaska. StrataGold's exploration efforts at Dublin Gulch have focused mainly on the Eagle Zone deposit which hosts the current National Instruments 43-101 compliant resource estimate comprising an Indicated Resource of 1.96 million ounces gold at 0.916 g/t and an Inferred Resource of 371,000 gold at 0.803 g/t using a 0.50 g/t gold cut-off (see news release dated February 27, 2006)*.
*Rob Carter, P.Eng. and Greg Mosher, P.Geo. of Wardrop Engineering Incorporated, Canada and Qualified Person Jim Sparling, P.Geo., Manager, Exploration North and Central America are the Qualified Persons under NI 43-101 responsible for the Dublin Gulch Resource estimate.
Quality Control and Assurance
A rigorous Quality Control and Assurance program (QC/QA) is in place, using control samples such as Blanks, CANMET and OREAS Standards and various duplicate checks, as well as protocols outlined and defined by a qualified independent Geochemist. The program is under supervision of Jim Sparling, P.Geo., StrataGold's Manager Exploration, North and Central America. All sample bags are freighted to ALS Chemex preparation lab in Terrace and then to Vancouver for analysis. Duplicate checks are made on various sample types and are sent to ACME Labs in Vancouver. ALS Chemex and ACME Labs are ISO 9001:2000 accredited laboratories.
