ROCMEC to begin Work at GREAT BASIN GOLD?s Hollister property
Pointe-Claire, Quebec, September 11th, 2008 ? Rocmec Mining inc. (the ?Company?, TSX-V Symbol: RMI - FSE Symbol:D5O) is pleased to announce it has entered into an agreement with Great Basin Gold Limited (TSX ? GBG) (Amex ? GBN) to conduct work using its exclusive patented Thermal Fragmentation Mining Method at the Hollister mine located in Nevada. The Hollister mine is situated within a mineralised corridor, known as the ?Carlin trend?, one of the worlds richest gold regions.
The Thermal Fragmentation Mining Method allows the extraction of a narrow corridor, mined in accordance to the true width of the ore vein. The technology significantly reduces dilution when mining high-grade vein deposits, such as the one present at Hollister. The company is excited to participate in this promising mining project and to share the benefits of its mining innovation with the Hollister team.
?We hope this is the beginning of a strong business relationship with Great Basin Gold. Through our efforts, we have taken concrete steps in achieving our growth strategy and accomplishing our objective of spreading the use of our patented mining technology.?, states Mr. Donald Brisebois president and CEO of Rocmec Mining.
Great Basin Gold is developing mining assets in two of the world's richest gold environments -- the Witwatersrand Basin of South Africa and the Carlin Trend of Nevada, USA, positioning the Company to grow substantially in value as it progresses towards its goal of becoming a low-cost mid-tier gold producer.
Subject to the approval of the TSX Venture stock exchange, Rocmec announces that it has closed a private placement consisting of 752,000 common share of the Company at a price of $0.10 per Unit for gross proceeds of $75,200. All the securities issued in virtue of this placement are subject to certain resale restrictions imposed under the applicable securities laws, which require that the securities not be traded for a period of four months.
Rocmec Mining's growth strategy is focused on developing quality assets that will significantly enhance shareholder value by using the thermal fragmentation method throughout the Americas to extract narrow vein ore bodies. By utilising the thermal fragmentation method in combination with conventional mining methods, the company aims to become a mid-tier gold producer. In addition, by providing service agreements, the company intends to generate additional revenue and accelerate the spread of this unique technology.
