LAVAL, CANADA--(Marketwired - Apr 15, 2014) - TYPHOON EXPLORATION INC. ("Typhoon") (TSX VENTURE:TYP) announces that it has received a first series of assay results from the drilling program on the Cinco Showing area, on the Fayolle Project, 100%-owned by Typhoon.
Highlights of exploration drilling results (see table of best results below):
The first drillhole from the Cinco Showing, FAX-14-71, intersected a mineralized structure corresponding to a komatiite sediments contact injected by altered, pyritized and deformed dykes. This geology coincides with the one observed at surface on the stripping site. Several gold values were intersected by this first hole, such as 7.83 g/t Au over 0.9 m and 5.0 g/t Au over 1.0 m with a weighted average of 3.85 g/t Au over 4.4 m (see table below). This gold mineralisation coincides with the values obtained from the previous outcrop stripping (see press release dated December 18, 2013). Results for the second drillhole, FAX-14-72, where visible gold was observed, are pending.

These results reinforce the potential to find additional mineralization up to 2.7 kilometres farther east of the Fayolle deposit, following structures and geological contexts which can differ from the deposit in itself. It demonstrates also an efficient exploration approach based on systematic sampling of rocks and soil, even though if the property underwent several phases of works during the last years.
QUALITY CONTROL
Cores are sawn in half, with one part kept as a control and the other being analysed. Assays are performed with standard fire assay procedures and atomic absorption finish. Certified reference material, duplicates and blanks are inserted in the sample sequence for quality control. Primary assaying is performed by ALS Chemex of Val d'Or. The rejects for all samples returning more than 10 grams of gold per tonne are completely pulverized and re-assayed.
