Westar Receives NI 43-101 Technical Report on
Saskatchewan Tobin Lake 18 Meter Coal Property

January 8, 2009 - Vancouver, BC:   Weststar Resources Corp. (TSX-V: WER, FKFRT: HN3) (the "Company") is pleased to announced that it has received a NI 43-101 Technical Report on the Saskatchewan Tobin Lake 18 Meter Coal property. The report dated January 6, 2009, is authored by Marvin A. Mitchell, P.ENG of Mitchell Geological Services Inc. will be filed on SEDAR shortly.
