Further high grade copper intercepts in last 5 holes in 2016 Walford drilling program
-
All assay results have been returned for Walford Creek Project 2016 drill program. The final five holes are WFPD196, WFDD212, WFRC213, WFRC214 and WFDD215. These include the following significant intercepts:
-
A total of 18 diamond and 2 RC holes were completed for 3,452m (274m RC pre-collar and 3,178m DD).
-
Very good continuity of high grade sulphide mineralisation seen in holes WFDD200, WFDD204 and in recent RC hole WFRC213. The high copper grades are shallow (from 34m) and close to the fault.
-
Drill rig mobilising this week to commence further testing along strike of these high grade shallow copper intercepts.

Walford Creek Project, North West Queensland
The Walford Creek 2016 drill program commenced on 5 May with the principal aim being to obtain further bulk sample for metallurgical work as well as upgrade the confidence of the JORC Resource. A total of 18 diamond and 2 RC holes were completed for 3,452m (274m RC pre-collar and 3,178m DD). All assay results have now been returned from the laboratory.
The Company is pleased to announce that these latest and final assay results continue to confirm the existence of a continuous shallow high grade sulphide component of the Resource close to the fault.
Intercepts from the 2016 drilling contain excellent grades of copper, zinc and cobalt. The continuity of both the geology and the high grade copper mineralisation in the recently completed drill holes WFDD200, WFDD203, WFDD204 and WFRC213 is extremely pleasing and supports the increased confidence in the geological understanding of the mineral system in this area.
Mineralisation encountered in RC hole WFRC214, further east of the holes mentioned above, was still strong with 20m of 0.72% Copper from 37m to the end of hole at 57m.
This shallow high grade copper will be followed up this month with along strike diamond drilling. This work will better determine the likely strike length of this high grade component of the Walford Resource.
