"I have three precious things, which I hold fast and prize.

The first is gentleness; the second is frugality; the third is humility, which keeps me from putting myself before others. Be gentle, and you can be bold; be frugal, and you can be liberal; avoid putting yourself before others, and you can become a leader among men.

But in the present day men cast off gentleness, and are all for being bold; they spurn frugality, and retain only extravagance; they discard humility, and aim only at being first.

Therefore they shall surely perish.

Gentleness brings victory to him who attacks, and safety to him who defends. Those whom Heaven would save, it fences round with gentleness."

Lao Tzu

"A revolution is coming: a revolution which will be peaceful if we are wise enough; compassionate if we care enough; successful if we are fortunate enough. But a revolution which is coming whether we will it or not. We can affect its character; we cannot alter its inevitability."

Robert F. Kennedy

I believe "Tea Party" right now has as many definitions as the term "racist". It's all in the mind of the person wishes to denigrate another. I myself began my foray in being a Ron Paul libertarian by first espousing the Tea Party. I became aware of the dire straits in which the country found itself, saw that the Tea Party wanted limited government (a far cry from the gigantic despotic state we find ourselves) and then went to Tea Party rallies. As tiime went on I saw the Tea Party co-opted by mainstream repubs and no longer identify myself as a "tea-partier". But the original Tea Party, the "tea-baggers" as CNN called them, was not then the co-opted movement it is today. I still believe that most people who identify themselves with the Tea Party are libertarians who work too hard and long to get to read enough to understand the problem. Therefore if I denigrate someone I believe will ultimately be responsive to my arguments I lose a "convert", as it were. The tea-partiers I know talk libertarian talk, not "conservative" talk and certainly not "proto-fascist" talk. Just stop labeling people in a derogatory manner because it takes a hell of a bigger argument to convinice someone of what you believe when you have call them a "fascist".

Stopped listening when he labelled the Tea Party a "proto-fascist" movement.

Wayne:

May not come as a surprise to you that Chris Hedges frequently writes for the Von Mises Institute along with such 'luminaries' as Lew Rockwell and Tom DiLorenzo -- many of those writers favoring a completety stateless society without the rule of objective law. The idea being, apparently, that human beings will somehow or other come to a complete consensus on every issue with no recriminations afterward. Crazy, I know.

So it's no wonder the Tea Party (or any other limited government organization) would be severely condemned.

Jim believes in the rule of law. The problem is our society has degenerated to the point that there is no rule of law. Only cover ups, fraud and continuous denial of the truth in all matters.
