VTEM Survey for Kempfield and Sunny Corner
Less than a week after listing on the ASX,
Argent Minerals Limited (ASX: ARD) has commissioned VTEM surveys over its
Kempfield and Sunny Corner tenements to identify additional drilling targets.
Argent has appointed Geotech Airborne Pty
Ltd to conduct this unique helicopter-borne magnetic and electromagnetic survey
at its properties in the Lachlan Fold Belt of NSW.
According to Argent’s Executive
Chairman Kerry McHugh, the surveys are due to commence towards the end of
April.
“We are pleased to be able to
commission the VTEM surveys so soon after listing and to progress our advanced
exploration program,” Mr McHugh said.
“The aim of the surveys is to produce
additional drilling targets to enable us to expand the resources at both
properties,” he said.
Initial results are expected three weeks
after commencement of the VTEM surveys.
Both of Argent’s Kempfield and Sunny
Corner properties contain Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide style deposits and VTEM
surveys over similar style deposits in Western
Australia have been very effective in indicating
additional mineralisation along strike and at depth.
Geotech will conduct the survey
approximately 115 line kilometres over Kempfield and 600 line kilometres over
Sunny Corner.
Argent Minerals Limited is a silver, gold
and base metals explorer with advanced properties in the highly mineralised and
productive Lachlan Fold Belt. The Company successfully listed on the ASX on
Thursday 3 April, closing 15% higher following its first day of trading.
The Kempfield property contains JORC
resources of 11.3 million ounces of silver (3.7 million tonnes at 93
grams per tonne silver at a 60 gram cut-off). The Sunny Corner property was the
site of the first major silver mine in Australia.
