OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (AP) _ Compass Minerals International Inc. (CMP) on Tuesday reported third-quarter net income of $27 million.
On a per-share basis, the Overland Park, Kansas-based company said it had profit of 80 cents.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 85 cents per share.
The minerals producer posted revenue of $232.7 million in the period.
Compass expects full-year earnings to be $5.20 to $5.50 per share.
Compass shares have dropped 5 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $82.33, a drop of 3 percent in the last 12 months.
