Viper Energy beats Street 3Q forecasts

MIDLAND, Texas (AP) _ Viper Energy Partners LP (VNOM) on Tuesday reported third-quarter profit of $6.4 million.

The Midland, Texas-based company said it had profit of 8 cents per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 6 cents per share.

The oil and gas company posted revenue of $18.8 million in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $17.6 million.

Viper Energy shares have decreased 10 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $16.28, a fall of 20 percent in the last 12 months.
