Location of the Gatsuurt Project
The Gatsuurt Project is located approximately 90 km north of Ulaanbaatar in the Mandal Soum Province of the Selenge Aimag municipality in central northern Mongolia.
 
History of the Gatsuurt Project
Exploration in the Project area was carried out from the 1970s through 2005, and the Project has evolved from gold placer discovery and mining to the discovery of lode gold in bedrock and resource delineation.
 
Geology of the Gatsuurt Project
The gold belt forms part of the northeasttrending North Khentei tectonic belt of north central Mongolia. The tectonic belt is bounded to the northwest and southeast by the Bayangol and the Yeroogol fault systems, respectively. The Gatsuurt Project is located in a tectonic setting along the Sujigtei fault that forms part of the Yeroogol system.
