Nico gold-silver property is located in central Santa Cruz Province, Argentina, approximately 233 kilometres northwest of the port city of San Julian. Access from San Julian is west along Hwy 521 for 170 km and north on Hwy 503, passing by Coeur d'Alene's Martha Mine at 10 km, and contining to the Nico project located 40 km farther north.

The Nico property is located within the Deseado Massif geological province of southern Patagonia. The Massif consists of Paleozoic basement rocks unconformably overlain by Jurassic-aged andesitic volcanics of the Bajo Pobre Formation and rhyolitic volcanics and volcanoclastics of the Chon Aike and La Matilde Formations.
