Location of the Ciénega Project
The Ciénega mine is located in the northwest corner of the State of Durango, approximately 325 kilometres from Durango, the capital of the State.

History of the Ciénega Project
The district has intermittently been explored since 1971 by Penoles. After the third series of diamond drilling and direct development work on vein, Peñoles decided to begin project construction.

Geology of the Ciénega Project
The gold and silver deposits are found in a 4-km (2.5mile) long system of veins. Ciénega’s ore bodies consist of quartz veins containing gold, silver, lead and zinc values. The vein thicknesses vary from 2 to 10 m (6.5 to 33 ft) with a northwest trend and nearby vertical dip. Veins are hosted in Tertiary volcanic rocks
