Location of the Mountain West Project
The Mountain West Project is a stream channel deposit located north of Elko, Nevada. The Mountain West property consists of 96 lode claims on 1,900 acres located in Elko County, 5 miles east of the smalle village of Mountain City.
 
History of the Mountain West Project
The area was explored between 1967 and 1983 by Pathfinder Mines (owned by Cogema) and its Predecessor Utah Construction and Mining Co. This exploration program consisted of the drilling of 359 holes to depths of up to 270 feet.
 
Geology of the Mountain West Project
Uranium mineralization occurs in an unconsolidated Tertiary stream channel underlain by granitic basement rocks.
