History of the Pelusa Project
The area has been mined by “pirqueneros” for about 100 years (Centenario, 2006). The focus has been on gold mining on the northern portion of the claim and on copper mining on the southern portion of the claim. Historic shafts appear to have been limited by the oxidation profile which extends to approximately 90 to 100 m from surface.
