Pozo de Nacho is located 105 kilometres southeast of Hermosillo, and less than five kilometres south of the main highway connecting Hermosillo with Chihuahua City. Much of the project area is underlain by sedimentary rocks with small plugs of quart-feldspar porphyry exposed in the centre of the property.
