During the LAST Great Depression (during the 1930's) there were no food stamps and no government-funded housing units. Back then there were tent cities and soup lines. It's difficult to imagine 100 million people walking the streets, hopping freight trains, sleeping in Hobo Camps, eating out of tin cans, and standing in LONG soup lines.

This Depression (2008 to Whenever) is well concealed by Government Programs. The Paper-Money-Covered-Depravity keeps the homeless in a taxpayer-funded home eating taxpayer-funded food AND off the streets. Try to imagine 100 million hungry, shivering, shabbily dressed, off-their-meds, frustrated people walking aimlessly around America. I'll bet THAT could easily turn into ONE LARGE ANGRY MOB in a hurry.
