>An Opening to Iran?  - Ron Paul -
All right, I'll bite. Who would you say has (in today's politicians, not some past hack) the "right" foreign policy and why you believe them to be correct. Surely not Obama!

I know you have your bias against Ron Paul but have you ever dropped that bias and properly assessed what he says? Is a well pummeled nation like Iran that has suffered for so many years the financial sanctions the thugs in DC have slammed them with really a threat to Israel never mind the US? Why would Iran not threaten to wipe out Israel or attack the US when these countries have for so many years screwed with the country. I can see where keeping the rhetoric going against Iran is worth the effort for the DC jackass's as another avenue to keep the people of the US fearing attack but there really is no substance to this poor excuse for a threat. Do they have some radical's in their midst, of course. Are they any worse than the radicals in DC that would attack anyone they don't like, of course not? Given past history which nation is the greatest war criminal?

Protecting the US from attack is a noble task but making things up just to justify spending trillions on military armament buildup, not to mention having all those bases in every country they now exist in, is not keeping the US safe. It's actually had the opposite effect, you can't argue this when there is so much out there, think news footage, that shows sovereign nations are sick and tired of having the US screwing with them. This has resulted in creating some real threats for the US. Jim C, have you really fallen for the liberal claptrap BS spewed by CNN and the like?

Ask yourself this, what is it that the US will benefit from if Iran is attacked? Is it really sovereign security or is it control over resources? Is it a show of power to Russia and China so these countries will simply roll over? Is it so that they can ultimately setup radar and missile bases (think Cuba) after they've bombed the crap out of and invaded the country and further exert terrorist control over more of the world? Heck, I'm sure if you were honest you would have many more options that can be tacked on to the short list I have here.

In reference to your last item, Ron Paul is by no means is advocating that the US should drop its guard. If you read, without biased eyes, all that he has said about the way the US is behaving as an international terrorist organization and creating the need for the huge military complex that now runs the country and instead brought the troops back home, took the savings and invested in infrastructure and so many other worthy projects within the country, then concentrated on keeping invaders out, the US would be well ahead of the game and still safe. How has the current scheme really kept the US safe? Small terrorist organizations run from caves have shown, that they can whenever they want, inflict damage within the US. It's laughable that with all the technological and military superiority the US has that these cave dwellers have shamed the DC jackass's.

Sorry Jim, your logic here is flawed. I won't try to promote Ron Paul as the individual who has all the answers and is the world’s savior but he is a wise man that people should pay more attention to.

Beginning of the headline :Last week, for the first time since the 1979 Iranian revolution, the US president spoke with his Iranian counterpart. Their 15 minute telephone call was reported to open the door to further high-level discussions. This is a very important event. I have been saying for years that we should just talk to the Iranians. After all, we talked to the Soviets when they actually had thousands of nuclear missiles pointed at us! The Iranians have none, according to our own intelligence services. ... Read More
