Westbound carriageway will be closed between junctions with Shepherd's Bush Green and Lime Grove

Special engineering techniques, weekend working and joint working with council to minimize disruption.
Engineers are about to embark on a vital project which will help ensure the people of Shepherd's Bush continue to enjoy safe and reliable gas supplies for decades to come.
National Grid is replacing ageing metal gas mains with tough new durable pipes in Uxbridge Road.
Work is due to begin on Tuesday 28 April and is scheduled to last ten weeks.
To enable the work to be carried out safely and efficiently the westbound carriageway of Uxbridge Road will be closed between the junctions of Shepherd's Bush Green and Lime Grove. Buses will be diverted up Lime Grove.
Work has been carefully planned and to minimise disruption the project will be carried out in conjunction with the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham's road resurfacing work in the area.
The new mains will be inserted into the old pipes wherever possible which will reduce the need for digging and limit travel disruption. To ensure the work is completed as soon as possible engineers will also be working at weekends when required.
Project Engineer Pat Nathan said: "The weather may be warming up but we need to replace these gas mains now to ensure people continue to have safe and reliable gas supplies for heating and cooking.
"By carefully planning and resourcing the project, working with the council and using innovative engineering techniques we hope to keep disruption to a minimum."
