Quinto Issues Iron Properties Drilling Update
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- May 23, 2007 -- Quinto Mining Corp. (TSX.V: QU) Has recently completed drilling six holes as part of its ongoing drilling program on three of the four satellite properties adjacent to the Peppler Lake deposit.
Tyrone Docherty, President, said, "The program comprises 68 line-kilometres of magnetic survey to develop a more detailed outline of the three iron deposits previously identified and explored by U.S. Steel. The program will also include approximately 6,000 metres of core drilling with the goal of establishing a substantially larger resource of iron in the area of our original 250 million tonnes Lac Peppler iron deposit."
Quinto Mining has mobilized a Diamond drill rig to the site and has started the drill program on Faber, Mont Lamelee, Lac Jean and Lac Hobdad. Six holes have been completed to date. The first four holes were on the Faber geophysical anomaly, a series of parallel highly magnetic bands extending for about 4.3 km. The iron formations were intersected in two of the holes.
The fifth and six holes were on the Mont Lamle geophysical anomaly, a U shaped formation with a length of 3.9 km along its main axis and a width of 300m. The two holes intersected the iron formation for nearly the full lengths of the holes. Upon visual examination of the drill core, the type and grade of iron formation were reported as typical of the nearby Peppler deposit. The sixth hole was terminated at 241 m depth (790 ft). Drilling has started on the seventh hole.
The core samples have been sent to International Plasma Laboratory Inc. of Richmond BC for chemical analysis. Results will be published as they become available. Additional information is available on the company website, showing the location of the properties, the airborne geophysical anomalies, ground geophysics and location of the drilling program.
