VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - March 22, 2011) -  Superior Mining International Corporation (News - Market indicators) (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Brent Butler as the Company's new President and Chief Executive Officer and Mr. Brian Richardson as the new Chief Financial Officer effective immediately.

Mr. Butler is a geologist who brings over 27 years of international industry experience in exploration, resources modeling and mining. He actively engages in property acquisitions, development and divestment and has been involved in several mine developments, both open cut and underground.

Mr. Butler has served on several boards of directors of listed companies in Canada and Australia. Recent roles include having worked for Kinross Gold Corporation for 8 years in Canada, USA, Brazil, Chile and Africa. Mr. Butler currently serves as a Director of TSX listed Redhill Resources Corp. and ASX listed Siburan Resources Limited.

Mr. Butler holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Otago University of Dunedin, New Zealand and is an active member of the AusImm (1989), SEG (2001) and PDAC (2003).

Mr. Brian Richardson, a Chartered Accountant, has over 20 years experience as a Chief Financial Officer and has held senior financial positions for a number of public and private companies. Mr. Richardson previously worked for Ernst & Young in Toronto and in Hong Kong and currently serves as Chief Financial Officer of TSX listed Southern Arc Minerals Inc. (TSX VENTURE:SA) and CNSX listed Bryant Resources Inc. (CNSX:BYR).

Mr. Richardson also holds an MBA from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne, Switzerland.

On these appointments, John Proust commented, "Brent Butler is a New Zealander with extensive international mining experience. His leadership abilities and technical experience will allow Superior Mining to accelerate the development of the New Zealand properties; Victory including Squatters Creek, Victory North, Ross South, Otama and Collingwood. Concurrent with Mr. Butler's and Mr. Richardson's appointment, respectively, Mr. John Proust has stepped down from the position of President and CEO and has assumed the new role of Executive Chairman while Mr. Cyrus Driver has stepped down as the Company's Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Driver continues to serve as a director and Mr. John Henry Atkinson remains as the Non-executive Chairman and as a director.

The Company would like to thank Cyrus Driver for his contribution as Chief Financial Officer through the years.
